The BOSS Orange optical collection is making its stateside debut this fall following the successful launches of the BOSS Black optical and sunglass collections. BOSS Orange optical frames reflect the young and fashionable spirit of the brand, and the collection is in line with the most innovative design trends.
With a contemporary attitude and a carefree “urban inspiration,” the collection is appealing with its young and metropolitan look in a crossover of styles, distinguished by captivating colors and distinctive design details. Such details include the stylized and perforated logo, which recall other accessories by the brand, the shaped earpieces and the original wavy shaped temples for unconventional appeal. With a total of 17 styles, the U.S. launch collection is comprised of nine plastic offerings and eight metal styles of which seven styles are unisex, six are geared towards men and four towards women.
The eyewear collection plays with decisive and trendy silhouettes as in the case of the 1950’s inspired men’s acetate and steel frames (BO 0002). The temples surprise with their stylish shape on which the logo neatly appears against strong colour combinations such as black matte ruthenium, dark havana brown, blue matte black, and grey transparent black.
Inspired by street style, the men’s optical models are produced in either ultra-lightweight stainless steel with an ultra-slim shape (BO 0003) or a rectangular shape with wavy temples personalized by the BOSS Orange logo with a “cut through” effect (BO 0004, BO 0006 and BO 0007). The color tones are very determined colors such as matte black, dark olive, matte green, matte palladium, dark ruthenium, matte beige and matte blue.
The glamorous personality of the women’s acetate optical frame (BO 0008) is expressed in a large butterfly shape that is decorated with the logo plaque. It is available in original colors, such as havana turquoise blue, havana red burgundy, havana violet and black.
With a mix of retro style and modern spirit, these acetate optical frames have a winning appeal with their large and rounded shapes. Distinctive details such as two studs positioned on the sides of the front and the photo-engraved logo on the temples are visible on up to date colors (BO 0023 and BO 0024).
The steel optical frames attract attention with large and rounded shapes. The ultra-light design, with unique wavy-shaped temples bearing the logo, is enhanced by refined colour combinations including: water, semi-matte violet, matte green and matte black (BO 0025).
Marketing and merchandising will include trade advertising, a 3-piece display and a 10-piece display.
The BOSS Orange collection of ophthalmic frames is manufactured and distributed by the Safilo Group. The suggested retail price range of the collection is $140 – $165. The BOSS Orange optical collection will make its debut at Vision Expo West and will be distributed to independent optical retailers beginning September 2011.
