More than 600 rock ‘n’ roll fans from throughout the industry packed B.B. King’s Blues Club on March 20th for the third annual EyeRock NewYork. The EyeRock Band put on a great show, performing classic rock and soul music during the four-hour benefit concert for Luxottica’s non-profit organization OneSight . According to EyeRock New York’s musical director, Steve Santinelli of Santinelli International, the show was the result of the combined talents of 25 musicians and singers representing a cross-section of optical companies.
“OneSight was overwhelmed with the great turnout at EyeRock,” said Greg Hare, executive director of OneSight. “This event raised more than $125,000 to support OneSight’s programs to deliver free vision care and eyewear to those in need around the world and right here in our own communities. We are already looking forward to bringing this event back next year in a new and fresh way.”
Contributions from corporate sponsors, lead by John Varvatos and Converse by REM Eyewear, made this the most successful EyeRock show to date, show organizers said. Other sponsors for this year’s show included Combined Insurance, CIBA Vision, Luxottica, Seiko, KNOCK Inc., Reichert, Cooper Vision, Essilor, Hoya Vision, New York Eye, The Vision Council, Vision-Ease, Zyloware, Bausch + Lomb, Carl Zeiss Vision, EyeMed, GE Capital, Matrix Fixtures, MicroClair, Nanofilm, The Power Practice, Santinelli International and Shamir Insight. The Jobson Optical Group was the official media sponsor for EyeRock New York.
