The eyeHealthCheck+ program also gives VSP doctors a free Office Mate® ExamWRITER® equipment integration software license (annual support fees not included) for new optomap installations. ExamWRITER electronic medical records (EMRs) is the most comprehensive, intuitive, and powerful paperless medical record software in the eyecare industry.
The launch of eyeHealthCheck+ coincides with the announcement of VSP Global as the enterprise brand for VSP’s family of companies.
“Our relationship with Optos is an example of the type of integrated programs we will develop under VSP Global,” stated VSP Global CEO Rob Lynch. “This program will allow our doctors to be more competitive while also enhancing the eyecare experience for patients.”
The Optos P200 and P200C devices provide wide-field, high resolution images of the retina, often resulting in early detection, management and treatment of various eye conditions, and can also detect evidence of systemic diseases such as hypertension and certain types of cancer.
“Our retinal imaging devices serve as a great tool for VSP doctors to not only monitor and protect the eye health of their patients, but their total body health as well,” said Optos CEO Roy Davis. “The optomap® also provides a great opportunity for patients to become involved in their own wellness screening as their digital image is immediately displayed for the doctor to review with them.”
“eyeHealthCheck+ is a great complement to the VSP Eye Health Management Program®, which is committed to identifying people with acute and chronic disease through their annual WellVision Exam® and helping direct them to the care they need,” said Lynch. “We will also be launching a consumer awareness program in the coming months to help educate our 55 million members about the benefits of retinal screening.”
